Text Message Etiquette

OHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDNNNNNNNNEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS.

Okay, I get SO FRUSTRATED sometimes. With whom, you may ask????? GUYS OF COURSE.

P.s. It will be obvious to the people Im speaking of that they are the object of my blog. But, thats ONLY if they ever read this. Oh, and half the stuff I say could apply to a afew people. ANYWAY, HERE GOES.

I remember when I started high school, JUST 6yrs ago, I did all my communicating over the phone with my voice, not my hands. And so much has changed since, and with great convenience (TExt) come great responsibility. I dont know if Tmobile should have published a list what is acceptable text mannerisms, but they didnt, so we ALL have to learn as we go.

Side Note: Males and Females are SO DIFFERENT, in many ways. And Text Message Etiquette is one. Conversing over the phone vs text messaging are two different mediums, BUT with the advent of Unlimited text (which by the way is SUCH A PHENOMENAL BLESSING, CUZ I go thru about 3,000 on a low end month) Text Messaging is simply a way to have a full fledged conversation over a longer span, and do other stuff in between. THEREFORE, certain rules should apply.

I guess, I'll call them AYO'S Text Message Etiquette RUles.

1. No one word replies.

Guys are usually the guilty party. SO my examples will be guys
I mean, If you want to kill the conversation, just send me a Text saying "Hey I am no longer interested in continuing this conversation" instead of letting it die with a conversation like "Me: How are your finals coming this week? Bob: Good" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What am I supposed to respond with - Oh, GOOD, really, that is so exciting. So last night I went to walmart right, and I bought a shoe...........
YEa, So, next time ANYONE is texting me and you reply with one word, to ME it means CONVERSATION OVER! And I will react as such.

2. Too much time ELasped between SENT message and REPLY. or Non Reply.

ALMOST every text message deserves a response. Of course, a text saying Okay, good luck on ur paper, doesnt have to be answered. I am FAR FROM PERFECT. (hard to believe, I know) But sometimes I get caught up in the REST of my life, and I forget to reply, but this rule is a bit different. It AGGRAVATES me when people/ guys dont respond for a long time to a text. Like How long does it take to answer the question WHat you DOING?.
Example Conversation: "Me: Hey, how did that Interview go? 2 Days Later JOHN: huh? What interview?"
No one wants to ask follow up questions to a question that was answered so long after. Especially if this text conversation is LATE at night. Im SORRY, but if it takes you 30 minutes to reply my text at 2:00AM. Im going to sleep.

3. FALL IN LOVE WITH 'LOL'
If you dont learn how to use Lol and many other text terminology, you will be annoying text partner because you will come off sounding ANNOYED instead of playful
FOR EXAMPLE: OMG, that was so STUPID. I am never doing that again. VS Lol, OMG, that was so STUPID. Lol, I am never doing that again.
So, if you dont wanna send the wrong idea.

I cant think of any other rules now. GUYS, whether is a friend, potential girlfriend, current girlfriend, Best Girl Friend, or WHOMEVER. Follow these rules. Girls LOVE that stuff. And if any girl reading this disagrees, SHUT UP. You are WRONG

I am adequately satiated. Lol, I doubt Anyone is gonna read my angry tirate, but FEEL FREE. The world is your OYSTER my friends

Last Minute shout out to one of my friends, I'll call him JOhn. He is SUCH AN amazing person to text. I am pretty sure we havent had ONE phone conversation, but by golly, it feels like it. I am pretty sure I never enumerated the Text message etiquette rule to him, but he is REALLY good about it, and that goes SUCH a long way.
